Position Summary: Responsible for executing direct materials commodity strategies in support of cost, quality and delivery performance. Implement cost improvement programs, negotiate annual contracts and monitor performance measurables. Initiate multi-functional product teams required to ensure product conformance in support of our customer base. Responsibilities of Position: 1. Effectively manage cost control of purchased components, tooling and services under the established guidelines and global commodity strategies. 2. Maintain tooling and component price change tracking within projects in support of the financial reporting function for the department. 3. Act as regional contact in support of Regional and Global Commodity Manger(s). · Ensure accurate information is supplied as part of Regional and Global Commodity Strategies. · Identify local opportunities considered as part of Regional and Global Commodity Strategies. · Ensure the effective rollout / implementation of all Commodity Strategies as assigned. · Ensure regional commodity level forecasting and tracking of financial performance. 4. Prepare requests for quotation / proposal, conduct market tests, and evaluate responses focus on total cost of ownership. 5. Lead cross-functional teams to assure control of component and tooling cost. 6. Negotiate multi-year purchasing contracts. 7. Support the attainment of supplier quality / development measurable through the sourcing process. 8. Support internal customers and manufacturing plants needs related to supplier performance. 9. Support the AQP activities in the development and procurement from components and tooling. 10. Evaluate new suppliers based on supplier screening and qualification process. 11. Support Commodity Managers in the generation and execution of Commodity Strategies. 12. Lead cross-functional team in the identification of LPP (lowest purchase price) and product performance. 13. Support customer business team activities. 14. Ensure on-time delivery of new components at agreed quality standards. 15. Other duties as assigned. Skill Requirements: 1. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Education and Experience Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required. 2. Minimum 5 plus years buying experience in the automotive arena. 3. Experience evaluating and auditing suppliers. Licensing or Special Certification Requirements: 1. Valid passport and driver's license. Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time. 2. Ability and willingness to travel and support global audios.
