Position Summary: Responsible for the development and performance of all home delivery sales activities for the dairy. This position has 3 direct sales manager reports and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area and oversees sales managers in each respective area of operation. Strategic goals also include the authority to restructure sales efforts to include alternative avenues of customer acquisition. Position responsibilities: Develops a business plan and sales strategy for each market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Annual sales expense resources to be developed with executive management to complete current assessments and to achieve company sales goals. Responsible for the hiring, training, performance, and development of the Sales Managers Team and internal company sales training program. Explores new avenues of customer acquisition to enhance our existing sales techniques/processes for customer base growth maximization. Assists in the development and implementation of sales programs/promotions to create Win/Win scenarios for the employees and for the dairy. Works with sales managers to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales performance. Partners with Dairy Operations Manager to effectively manage growth areas and area assignments. Compensation plan will be salary and customer gain bonus plus full time benefits. Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance. Maintains accurate records of all route assignments, sales, and activity reports submitted by Sales Managers. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the dairy sales team. Essential skills and experience: 7-10 years of experience in sales management. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams. Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal/communication skills Innovator with strong problem solving ability and analytical skills Ability to work alone and unsupervised, but be part of a successful team “Customers First!” service attitude and follow-through Detail oriented an absolute must as well as effective time management expertise Must possess excellent verbal communication skills Must possess strong computer skills to include MS Excel and Word Reporting to this position: 3 Sales Managers and 1 Dairy Sales Trainer Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
