DriversPost & Google Jobs network

As you may have already heard, Google has recently launched it’s AI powered job search engine, which significantly enhances the search experience for users making a job search.

Job seekers can now begin a search for all types of positions and Google will present them with a sortable list of the best matching jobs.

What this means for employers is that there's a potential new great way to find and hire qualified applicants for their open positions.

However, getting your job listed on Google Jobs is not 100% straightforward. Currently, there is no place employers or recruiters can go and post their jobs directly to have it appear in search results.

If you want your latest job ads to appear in the Google Jobs search feature, there are two ways to ensure that Google can find your job postings:

  • Direct integration with Google. If your organization has a website, your job postings are published on that website, and you are able to edit the HTML of the job postings, you can use job posting structured data markup to directly integrate with Google.

  • Using a third party job site. Any organization can ensure its job postings are indexed by Google by posting those jobs via a third party job site that has integrated with Google.

The good news is that DriversPost has already integrated with Google's new job search feature, which automatically enables us to feed your posted jobs directly into their job search index.

We’ve been working closely with Google to make this happen. And now, we’re pretty excited to bring this opportunity to advertisers.

For employers and recruiters, this feature brings many great benefits:

  • Prominent placement in search results: Your postings are now eligible to be displayed in the dedicated Job Search UI, featuring your company logo, reviews, ratings, and job details.

  • More, motivated applicants: The new user experience enables job seekers to filter by various criteria like location, employer, industry or job title, meaning you’re more likely to attract applicants who are looking exactly for the job type you're promoting.
Once someone finds a query that works, they can also turn on notifications to get an immediate alert when a new job is posted matching their personalized search query.

  • Increased chances of discovery and conversion: Job seekers will have a new channel to interact with your postings, and to quickly click-through to your jobs landing page to start the application process.

How we integrate with Google's job search feature

DriversPost uses job structured data on all job posting web pages to make sure Google is aware that it needs to index your job ad.

We also automatically let Google know where to get our sitemap to quickly index all of our site content.

What if the jobs I post end up not showing in Google's job search results?

Duplicates

Please note that Google removes all of the duplicate listings that employers post to all job sites. For jobs that appear on multiple sites, Google will link to the one with the most complete and recent job details.

No Career Fairs

Many companies commonly post job listings inviting candidates to careers fairs. However, this is not allowed by Google Jobs and your post will not appear in the search results. If you’re hiring for multiple positions, simply note that in the job ad and ask for candidate resumes; Google Jobs does allow employers to hire for multiple positions with one listing.

Poor Company Reviews

Check your company’s reviews on the internet. Google Jobs can pull in reviews of your company from Glassdoor, Indeed and many other review portals. If your company has poor reviews from previous employees, your ad is less likely to perform well.

Don't be Deceptive

Avoid using deceptive or misleading ads that don’t fully describe the position or leave out key details. If your posting is not 100% clear, your ad likely won’t show up under Google Jobs.
