The Logistics & Delivery Fleet Manager will report to the Operations Manager and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s delivery and fleet maintenance division including: workflow, routing, recruitment, scheduling & coordinating whole sale and local routes as well as all delivery requirements associated with contracted 3rd party shipping agents, designing and implementing SOP’s, implementing driver training programs, developing and tracking KPI’s and overseeing company compliance to all DOT rules and regulations. Works closely with sales, marketing, produce and warehouse managers to ensure safe and efficient production and logistical requirements are being met while being held accountable that all route drivers maintain Sigona’s strict product quality guidelines and delivery expectations.

This is a full-time exempt position, salary DOE. Job description is subject to change at any time. Normal working schedule will be 5:00 am to 2:30 pm., Monday through Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages Sigona's Office Deliveries overall delivery fleet and routing requirements for wholesale, route, and contracted 3rd party shipping agents to ensure consistent on time deliveries
  • Implements best practices and follows lean manufacturing principles to improve departments overall efficiencies. Responsible for assisting in establishing and maintaining departmental KPI’s
  • Ensures the constant ongoing training of route drivers on all company policies including food safety, allergen, organic, GMP’s, SOP’s, and positive customer service between driver and the customer delivery point
  • Driver acquisition including; job posting, interviewing and retention
  • Works with fellow managers to implement company goals & policies; liaison between sales, marketing
  • Maintaining company vehicles in accordance with all Sigona's Office Deliveries policies as well as current state and federal (DOT) transportation & safety rules and regulations.
  • Performance reviews, communicates expectations & objectives. Administers disciplinary action within the department.
  • Participates in project teams that improve productivity, control costs, reduce waste, maintain quality and food safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of logistics and fleet management experience, or BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university. Experience in the food industry, working knowledge of food safety, particularly highly perishable products such as produce, is a plus.
  • Multi-task and work within strict delivery time deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing and have basic computer skills
  • A team player willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done
  • Excellent driving record. Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able work in both cold and warm environments.
