828 Venue Management Company is the nation’s fastest growing network of inspiring event venues with unique concepts that attract events of all types. 14TENN, 828’s newest venue, will be opening in 2018 and is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

Playing a vital role in the 828 family, the Event Sales Manager oversees and manages the client relationship from initial inquiry to final booking. This includes providing tours to clients, explaining our contracts and rules and supporting the client with questions they may have.

This position is fast-paced and provides tremendous opportunity to be a part of an ambitious team that fosters personal development, creativity and passion. Effectively communicating in both written and verbal form will be essential in this position. Being detail oriented while having a strong organizational background will ensure success in prioritizing and meeting deadlines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the sales cycle from client inquiry to final booking
  • Maintain a premier experience through the sales process to that the customer experience is the best experience in the industry. The customer is #1 to us at 828.
  • Host tours with potential clients interested in booking events for weddings, corporate events or personal celebrations
  • Recommended to be onsite at 14TENN for a minimum of 3 days out of the week to host tours (Can include Saturday and Sunday)
  • Host 15-20 tours per week
  • Work with clients to explain contracts and venue rules
  • Upsell additional venue services such as photo booth rental and coordination services
  • Review past due quotes and orders weekly and follow up with clients and Accounting appropriately
  • Maintain a sales quota related to wedding and corporate events
  • Network with local vendors in the wedding industry to keep a pulse on the industry
  • Network with local corporate groups to identify opportunities for corporate events
  • Work with corporate marketing to ensure information about the market is being passed back and forth to ensure optimal lead delivery

Skills & Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in sales. Event/Wedding industry specific sales is preferred.
  • Ability to accommodate a schedule based on volume
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures related to the event industry
  • Experience in event operations
  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Very Strong written communication skills
  • Passion for building a great team
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with immediate resources
  • Must have a cell phone and working computer
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
