Job Overview

The AviationShipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving and stocking parts into inventory as well as preparing and sending out parts shipments. In addition, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible to assist with all parts department functions as needed, including assisting the needs of Aircraft mechanics on the shop floor and answering department phone calls.

Essential Functions

  • Receives parts, including verifying accuracy of shipments and entering parts received into inventory.
  • Tracks parts shipments to ensure parts are received timely and accurately.
  • Stocks and organizes parts in the stock room.
  • Ships parts, including packaging and labeling.
  • Prepares and ships parts to vendors for returns.
  • Processes transfer requests to/from other Company locations.
  • Files freight claims with carriers when there are discrepancies in shipments received.
  • Files and tracks claims with vendors for damaged or missing items.
  • Notifies customers and the service department when ordered parts are ready for pickup.
  • Participates in counting parts for parts physical inventory.
  • Assists with determining and ordering parts needed.
  • Repackages loose or partial packages of parts.
  • Maintains and cleans work areas & parts room.

Preferred Experience:

Education and/or Experience:

Up to 1 year of related experience in a parts department.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

Associate’s Degree or 2-year Technical Degree in a related field.

1-3 years of related experience in a parts department.

This position requires an employee to frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires an employee to occasionally sit, kneel, climb, bend, twist, and lift over 50 pounds.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $12.00 to $15.00 /hour
