Job Overview

The shuttle driver loads and unloads trailers and moves materials between East and West Plants and to an off-site facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operates tractor-trailer/shuttle truck to back trailers into dock bays and pull them to a secured lot once completed.
  • Transports local and over the road deliveries observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Chocks rear wheels of truck or trailer before any unloading takes place. Remove chocks before driving away.
  • Must be able to pass forklift certification test
  • Move product safely using forklift. Follow instructions for operating equipment.
  • Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Inventory product as needed.
  • Clear work area of loose or scrap materials. Sweep work area as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks. Move product into correct positions.
  • Accurately complete inter-plant transfer forms
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • Current CDL
  • Ability to successfully pass the OSHA Forklift Certification
  • Prefer one to three years related experience driving tractor trailers, without incident

REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form
  • Ability to read and interpret basic documents, safety rules and other correspondence

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the attendance policy stated in the company’s employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. Must be available and willing to work such weekends and/or holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
