Do you have a successful track record for delivery of key performance indicators and are ready to bring your expertise to a newly created Production Manager role? NOV’s ISE team now has an opportunity for a senior production expert to join them in Houston, TX at the 8017 Breen Drive Facility. You will have excellent knowledge of lean and continuous improvement manufacturing processes and will utilise your planning/process skills as well as proven manufacturing methods to ensure customer satisfaction and on time in full delivery. With the support of the Operations Manager, you will evaluate and improve on the current structure and processes in order to improve performance and team effectiveness and deliver production plans in a timely and cost effective manner.   • Oversee and accept responsibility and accountability for all production related activities, departments, and personnel
  • Exercise authority commensurate with position
  • Build and develop a Production Management Team who will plan and execute the activities necessary to fulfil customer orders
  • Manage production efficiently and to schedule in accordance with plan
  • Maintain departmental expenses and headcount in line with company business plans
  • Implement and deliver relevant KPI's in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and customer/employee engagement
  • Drive improvements in production processes using defined lean and continuous improvement methods
  • Standardize processes and procedures across all production departments
  • Develop training and coaching plans for direct reports, and provide performance feedback
  • Oversee training of production personnel to develop their technical capabilities and increase productivity levels
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced by department supervisors
  • Be an active member of the site management team working to develop operational plans
  • Supporting the Sales Team with customer visits and meetings
  • Travel as required
  • Support other department managers and carry out other duties as may be reasonably expected by line manager

Quality Essential Desirable
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, manufacturing, business operations or engineering based apprenticeship
  • Master of Business Administration

  • 10 years working in a manufacturing leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, aluminium and steel fabrication, assembly, high energy system testing, and coating

Skills, training or special knowledge
  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge, and experience using, Manufacturing Resource Planning systems
  • 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Kaizen, and 5-S
  • Knowledge of the Standard Cost Accounting method of manufacturing, including ability to perform variance analysis
  • Experience in overseeing the proposal and implementation of capital investment projects

Quality Assurance Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Training Develop and participate in training as required.
Health, Safety and Environment Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
