Immediate Hire: Courier/File Clerk

Job Description:

The Courier/File Clerk will support the Payment and Treasury Department with daily Courier responsibilities as assigned and administrative and clerical functions. This position will deal with confidential information, one must be able to maintain a high level of trustworthiness, professionalism, confidentiality and dependability at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities: Included but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned.

  • Courier Functions daily to assigned locations
  • Perform day to day repetitive clerical functions including, scanning verifying, classifying, computing, and recording data
  • Keep track and process incoming payment batches, faxes and other duties in compliance with financial and Company policies and procedures
  • Verify and reconcile to ensure all payments are accounted for on all required systems
  • Facilitate swift processing and batching of daily mail, including copying, balancing and posting to multiple systems
  • Generate reports as required from batching system to be forwarded for posting
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assisting co-workers with information and/or research requests
  • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and computers


  • Reliable transportation for daily Courier Functions.

  • Acquires job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks
  • Work on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited supervision
  • Well organized, detail oriented and able to perform tasks within expected timeframes
  • Working knowledge of Window based systems
  • Strong ability to communicate both written and verbally to all levels of the organization
  • Able to multitask and be versatile

Physical requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successful perform the essential functions of the this job.

  • Lift, push, pull and transport up to 50lbs
  • To stand or sit for periods of time, to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twisting both neck and waist and multiple hand use
  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement, including use of a keyboard

Desired Competencies:

  • Recent experience as a Courier. Recent experience as a file clerk.
  • Experience in the Medical Billing field with an emphasis with payment posting
  • Knowledge of Insurance payers
  • Driving, for Courier Functions
