United States of America - California, OaklandJob Summary AECOM has an opening for an Environmental Planner IV in Northern California. The candidate will primarily lead environmental clearance and associated work on roadway transportation projects on the State highway facilities. Work will include interaction with senior project managers and task leaders; California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) staff; and representatives from cities, counties, and local, regional, state, and federal agencies. May serve as a project manager, deputy project manager, task manager, or technical specialist depending on the project assignment. The position may be located in Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, or Sacramento. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Responding to a variety of ongoing requests to support Caltrans projects, including refining task needs, scoping and costing tasks, and identifying and assigning staffProviding oversight, authority, and accountability for projectsOverseeing multiple projects simultaneously within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverablesProviding leadership in mentoring personnelResearch, writing, and impact analysis for a wide range of CEQA and NEPA documents;Subconsultant and technical staff management;Financial management and reporting on ongoing tasksEnvironmental permitting support; and Meeting coordination and moderation.Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products.Usually performs as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty, a type of facility, industry, equipment or program function.Monitors and ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws.Oversees specialized planning functions, such as large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.Provides overall management of IE-related planning issues.Advises the Planning Director on all planning-related matters.Advises various councils, boards, commissions and elected officials in planning related issuesEvaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.
