What are we looking for?

BetterHelp is seeking an execution-oriented generalist with an intuition for building community and connection within a fast-growing organization of 150+ internal team members and 20,000 independent providers. The Head of Operations and People Experience will oversee a wide range of functions including facilities, business operations, events, people operations, administration, and culture. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role within the company that will lead a range of initiatives that have a major impact on both the business and the team. What will you do?

* Manage a team of five people; hire and grow the team as needed to accomplish your goals
* Oversee and own all the administrative aspects of our operations
* Partner with both back-end functions (finance, legal, HR) and business functions (product, marketing, engineering, business development, sales, customer support) to serve their operational needs and to assist in initiatives to facilitate growth.
* Be involved in all business-enabling functions such as IT, recruiting, finance operations, legal, facilities, business operations, and more. Some of these functions will report to you either directly or as dotted-lined, and in some of these functions you will partner with other leaders.
* Oversee external vendor relationships to coordinate contract negotiations, payments, renewals, upgrades, and monitoring.
* Proactively identify process gaps across the entire company and implement creative solutions using technology or automation whenever possible
* Lead special projects, both internally and externally
* Play a key role in our talent sourcing, recruiting and vetting strategy
* Collaborate with our HR team to ensure that employee satisfaction remains high, creating or adjusting programs as needed
* Thoughtfully curate perks and swag programs that cater to the true needs and desires of the team
* Curate and oversee employee events and off-sites that are unique, intentional, and fun!
* Work to ensure that no employees process or work is slowed by a lack of tools or resources
* Own employee onboarding and develop additional programs to help new team members integrate with the team as a whole
* Have your finger on the pulse of the companys needs and build relationships with team members
* Organize the operational aspects in the companys participation in events and conferences
* Oversee the management and approvals of business travel
* Continuously optimize the physical office space at our brand new headquarters office in downtown Mountain View alongside our Workplace Manager to make sure people are productive and connecting with one another both professionally and personally
* Oversee all the facilities, including additions of new offices and/or expansions
* Oversee community and social impact initiatives where we harness our resources and capabilities for the greater good
* Draft policies, documentation, and internal communications

Requirements

* 3+ years of experience in facilities / operations / office management / people operations / people experience or equivalent related functions with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in a company or division with at least 75 people
* Experience managing direct reports
* Strong intuition for culture and community
* High drive and commitment to our mission
* Extremely high planning, prioritization, and project management skills
* Excellent judgment and the ability to make the right decision with minimal oversight and high stakes, nearly every time
* Proven track record of the successful execution of large projects under your direction - on time and on budget
* Tech-savvy with proven track record of using technology to automate and improve processes
* Understanding of functional space planning
* An attitude of extreme ownership - ready to roll up your sleeves and inspire others, to help get the job done!
* Ability to connect with people personally while also setting boundaries
* Excellent communication skills
* Impeccable organization skills
