Delivery Driver

POSITION TITLE: Driver

EMPLOYEE PAY STATUS: Non-Exempt

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

This position provides transportation of patients to and from the facility providing continuous observation, interaction, and role modeling to the patients while maintaining safety at all times. Non-mechanical upkeep of van, painting and cleaning of patient rooms, offices, public areas and other assigned duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide transportation for patients to and from the facility.

Report all van maintenance problems to the Manager of Facility Operations.

Responsible for the van log ensuring that the address and phone numbers are updated.

Communicate and consult with the Charge Nurse (R.N.) and other staff members regarding patient care issues and information.

Demonstrate responsibility and sound judgment regarding patient safety.

Maintain a clean environment for patients at all times.

Performs related duties as requested.

Requirements

Education and Licensing:

High School or equivalent required, plus technical training and experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

Required license- Driver's License

Must have a clean driving record

Skills and Abilities:

Maintains confidentially of patients at all times.

Sensitivity to, and willingness to interact with, persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.

Address patients, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.

Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.

Attend all mandatory facility in services and staff development activities as scheduled.

Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.

Assist in any emergencies that may arise.

Assist in maintenance on an "as needed" basis.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

Use standards office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.

Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.

Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.

Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.

Vision: see details of objects at close range.

Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.

Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.

Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
