We are currently seeking a skilled forklift professional with 1-2 years of forklift experience to join our warehouse and distribution center team in Rincon, GA. In this role, you will operate a sit-down forklift where you will be responsible for accurately receiving, storing, replenishing, order pulling, and loading our flooring products while meeting Halstead's guidelines of safety, productivity, and quality in a manner that meets our warehouse and distribution standards.

Salary: $15 -$17 an hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Load and unload full pallets of merchandise in and out of containers and trailers ensuring damage is avoided.

Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.

Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.

Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment.

Stencil, tag, or mark orders as requested.

Checking pallets are wrapped securely upon loading.

Stacking empty pallets.

Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.

High degree of attention is required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.

Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.

Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.

Maintain a clean & safe environment.

Will be required to use RF scanner gun.

Prior forklift certification per OSHA standards (a plus).

Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck.

Having a good sense of balance.

Having good eye-hand-foot coordination.

Required Skills/Abilities

Education: High School Diploma or equivalency.

Quality: You must be able to read and count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly. The ability to follow directions is extremely important. Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

Equipment: Must be able to operate a forklift, EPJ, and radiofrequency equipment and have completed a forklift training program. Operate forklift in the performance of receiving/order filling duties when required. Daily, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.

Safety, Sanitation, Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and SDS Standards.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work schedule is generally Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm EST.

Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for periods of five hours or more, moving and examining objects at high and low reach, and reading for periods of three hours or more.

Frequently lift-up to 45 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time.

Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
