Job Overview

Billings Flying Service (BFS) is a solutions provider for the aviation industry, specializing in CH-47 aerial firefighting and heavy lift services. Leveraging 35+ years of experience with fixed wing and rotorcraft, BFS is positioned to solve the most difficult aviation problems. Since 1997, BFS has operated fire-fighting helicopters across the world, including Chile, Indonesia, and the United States. The BFS fleet of seven CH-47Ds, one UH-60A, and two Bell 206Ls are capable of fighting wildfires by either bucket or tank. Aircraft are supported through BFS's FAA 145 repair station and talented staff.

BFS owns and operates a FAA 145, AS9110, and Boeing certified maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility for the CH-47 Chinook. Established in 2019, the MRO facility supports the BFS Chinook fleet, commercial CH-47 customers, the United States military, and foreign militaries. The facility focuses on CH-47 drivetrain, dynamics, hydraulics, actuation, and flight controls.

Supply Chain and Logistics Assistant will work in coordination with the Supply Chain and Logistics Specialist and is responsible for maintaining and managing stock levels of shop consumables, as well as assisting in the management of calibrated tools. This position will also work in coordination with the Director of Safety to ensure facility safety compliance to the highest standard. The assistant is also the main point of contact for providing logistical support for any hangar repairs/maintenance that may be needed on a day-to-day basis as directed by the Specialist. Duties include:

Oversees building and grounds maintenance

Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly

Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company standards

Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections, including emergency repairs

Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies within the facility

Check completed work by vendors and contractors

Transport parts/tools between BFS locations using a company vehicle/trailer

Maintain/manage consumable stock levels via online spreadsheet

Procurement of parts/tools needed to repair and maintain facility equipment

Work in conjunction with the specialist on day-to-day needs

Work in conjunction with BFS safety director to ensure a safe and efficient work environment


Must be able to read and write English

High level of both verbal and written communication

Ability to work independently and make economic decisions based on overall company vision and direction

Fluent in the Microsoft Office and Google Suite (word, excel, powerpoint, gdocs, gsheets)

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license

Frequently lift / push / carry items up to 50 pounds.

Forklift certification and experience (preferred)

Two or Four year degree in a business/supply chain/aviation related field is desired but not required if experience is commensurate (preferred)
